MEET THE TRY MEDICS PEOPLETry Medics aim to broaden young people’s perspective on global health care and be the main vehicle of establishing positive cross-cultural relations within the medical field.
We accomplish this by giving high school and university students the possibility to gain medical experience by shadowing hospital personnel abroad.

Co-founder
Oliver got the idea of Try Medics after shadowing physicians at Mnazi Mmoja University Hospital in Zanzibar. Oliver is now making sure students are well prepared for their placement before departure.
Sonny
Co-founder
With his many years of experience in enterprise creation and management Sonny contributes to creating a well-functioning and streamlined organization. Sonny is co-founder of several companies in both Africa, the United States and in Denmark..

Maria
Program Manager
Maria warmly welcomes students on arrival and make sure their placement runs as planned. She will be there during your whole stay and with Maria around you are in good hands. With her keen eye for detail she will be on top of your placement and is always helpful with good advices on fun activities you and your fellow students can do.

Driver
Hashim is Try Medics faithful driver on Zanzibar. He will drive you to the activities as well as to and from the hospital during your stay. Hashim follows the latest trends and is always good for a laugh.
Asha
Chef
Asha makes delicious breakfast and dinner for you and your fellow students. With her amazing sense of taste she makes the best tropical dishes but also a burger ones in a will so you can feel at home. Every Friday she makes a BBQ at the Try Medics pool.

Sheha is incredibly smiling and helps Asha cook delicious meals for you and your fellow students.

Together with Juma, Bakari watches the Try Medics house during the night hours so students safely can go to sleep after an instructive internship day at the hospital.

Students security is Hamis first priority. He watches the Try Medics house during the daytime and ensures that the house’s big garden is kept tip top all the while.

Asha makes sure students can come home to a clean house after a day at the hospital.

Hamis makes sure that the pool and the Try Medics house always is in good condition. Hamis is really solution-oriented and manages all repairs or additions to the house with great care.

House cat
Bahati means luck in Swahili. He lives at the Try Medics house and welcomes the students when they get home from the hospital.

Watchdog
Rafiki is the house watchdog and students faithful friend. Rafiki means friend in Swahili.

Ruth is your mother abroad! She is on top of your placement and will constantly follow up on your progress during your whole stay. She is always helpful with good advices on fun activities you and your fellow students can do.

Paul cooks breakfast, lunch and dinner for the students at the Try Medics house. He listens to your food wishes and ensures a mix between western and African food.
