Uganda is Africa’s Pearl – Experience its beautiful nature!
Uganda’s motto was coined by the former American President Winston Churchill in the previous century, earning it the name “Africa’s Pearl.” This title is well-deserved as the country offers many fantastic experiences. Uganda boasts lush natural landscapes due to its proximity to the equator, and its wildlife is incredibly fascinating. You can experience this during your placement as Try Medics organizes weekend trips around the country, allowing you and your fellow travelers to witness the country’s magnificent nature up close. This includes going on a safari, visiting Kampala (the capital), and exploring Jinja, a beautiful area along the famous Nile River where fun activities like river rafting, horseback riding, and quad biking await.
We’ve found that the combination of these experiences and the relevant practical experience creates a strong community among travelers and Try Medics staff throughout the placement. The staff will take care of you from the moment you arrive, ensuring a proper introduction to the hospital, following up on your experiences daily, organizing social activities for you and your fellow travelers, and joining you on weekend trips.
